Despite the above mentioned leg problem this bird is fit and healthy, and I'm certain he will still be more than capable in producing fertile eggs and helping in feeding youngsters for someone who has a single hen in need of a mate.

:oops: I might find out for myself if this bird will produce fertile eggs this year? Despite pairing the hen with a cock I bred a couple of years ago and the fact they started nest building, it turns out that the bird the hen has chosen as a mate is the cock with the displaced leg.:shock:
So obviously the bird I have advertised for sale is staying where he is now, very happily housed with his mate.:roll:

Outside of the breeding season the Waxwings are housed together and paired up towards their breeding season luckily for them their season is quite late in the Summer.:grin:
But yet again I have misjudged the true pairing due to the youngest cock being the dominant male of the three here, but all the while the hen had chosen the cock lower down in the pecking order.:roll:

I just hope that I have rectified my mistake before it is too late in the year and that I will see at least one round from this pairing?
