I was taking some pics and compared ones of a gouldian that was in horrible shape when I got him. He looked awful. My guess is that he was stuck in molt, as he had VERY overgrown nails (they were spiraled nearly twice around!) which wouldnt happen normally in a first-time molt. He had no tail shaft wires, his coloring was very poor, missing a toe and the poor little guy just looked pitifully bedraggled. He definately needed rescuing!
Here he is today in the second pic. He turned out beautiful. I believe I've had him 6 weeks or so. This little boy sings nonstop and turned out beautiful. Hope to have chicks from him the end of summer

Yes...it is the same bird. Hard to believe. Of course, I couldnt grow his toe back. No funding for the Avian Stem Cell Research Program yet. :P

Oh, and Paul,
Dont forget...we still owe you for the ruse about the green avadavats.
Remember...the best revenge is well planned, drawn out and masterminded by a woman.
