hi all
just thought you might like to know that i cant wait till next weekend ,apart from getting my shed up i cant wait to put my birds in a bigger place they are all plucking each other now, so tommorrow i am going to have to rearrange them all the cocks are together and not liking it i have already built another cage to split one lot up.i only have another week to go but i dont want to lose any birds because of being cramped i may have to drag out the old wire cages that i got from the car boot sale years ago to put them into use

hi matt/roger
javas as you know are known for fighting,i had no option but to put them together when i did as the avaiary came down tpday and my son in law is taking some of the stuff from inside my bird room to take some of the load off the skip which is coming next saturday along with the fence but the skip has to take 2 sheds and one of them is 20ftx10 at least someone took the asbestos roof away a couple of weeks ago this is costing me a fprtune but i dont care as long as my birds come out of it ok all i can say is its a good job i got rid of my 40 odd zebra finches before i started this:lol: somone i know who lives about 6 miles away offered to take my birds into his shed,as he lives far enough away for no one to know where i live.but he is so bright that his canarys are dropping like flies because they where all huddled up so he was going to give them worming stuff they give to pigeons until i told him not to so i dont want my birds looked after by such a moron he was looking for his hospital cage the other day to put a sick zebra in it and he found a dead canary in it that he put in a fortnight ago and forgotten about it and that is the honest truth i am not making it up hr thought it was funny so needless to say i declined is offer of looking after my birds i thave had a think and i will put some dividers up in the morning to split some of them up

Om my, Kenny,
I just had to tell you....your javas are BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I came across 1 in a store last week (like the ones in the last pic), but wanted to read more about them before I endeavored another new species. Then what do I do...I go and buy a pair of CB's. They were a steal...couldnt pass them up, lol.
I've never used the cage front approach...I like it. Hubby is looking into purchasing a building to set up on our property (one that can be moved if need be) and I'm trying to get ideas for how to set them up in there. Would be odd though...not having them in the house with me...the bird room is my reprieve from the kids, lol...and in the house, I can dart back there when they are occupied!

hi nikki
my speciality red eyed whites, the story is that i have had to cage them up as i am having a new birdroom erected over the weekend and its been a long time coming and i had to leave it to the last minute as i knew there would be arguments i just put those boxes with the cage fronts together last weekend and put my javas in them.i did have them in a flight pevious to that and in my outside aviary but i am tearing the whole lot down after 25 years the sheds and aviary are well past repairing thats why the pictures came about as they did argue and i had to split some up

Hi Ken and Nikki,
Ken,
Where are these rough Birds you mentioned?:-D
They are all looking good to me mate.
Nikki,
Are the CB's you mentioned Cordon Bleus? If so congratulations and I hope you manage to breed from them this year.:-D
Paul.

Hi Paul,
Yes, they are Cordons...Blue Capped. Always wanted a pair couldnt resist the price last weekend. I was amazed at how many there were at the show. Part of me knows they are more difficult to breed...but another part says that if these people are bringing them in by the hordes, then I can breed them too, lol.
Not sure how much luck I'll have at breeding them, with my little aversion to live food, lol! If they go through than my berries did...Im in for it. They were eating about 40 each feeding...which was about 4 times a day.
Im already reading, though...learning what I can. I have fosters on standby as well, but we'll see IF and how they do on their own.
They're already playing with the coco fiber (or should I say fibre). Not expecting alot from them this summer, but we'll see.

hi paul
well i may have jumped to quickly to the wrong conclusion.the answer lies in them all being last years birds i think some may be in molt and a bit of petty sqaubbling thrown in my fault i fear DOH! just wanted them all to be ok and not crowded out
