Hi all

I have pair male java's (sold as a pair)
4 male canaries with 2 females (given to me as 3 pairs)

all adds up to a lot of noise ( they have a wonderful song) and a testostrone problem in the bird house!!
however i did do a rescue job on the canaries and they have given a lot of pleasure and cost me nothing. (but i do believe they started me on this more than compulsive hobby)

Managed to get a pair of Zebs and a pair of bengalese recently or i hope they are :D :D

thought i'd share that with you

regards John :D

I will need to post loads of questions as i need lots of info are their any good sites or books i could get any suggestions ?

hi mate,

welcome to the forum, i'm sure the few of us on here will be able to help you out with most of your questions. if not i always find the local library is usefull from time to time (after a while you'll find most books say the same stuff!)

chris

Hello John,

Welcome to the Hobby, but most of all welcome to Feathered Friends.

As Chris has already told you, if you have a question post it here & I'm sure you will be more than happy with the answers given, again Chris has already stated this but most of the books out there are the same information from years ago, reworded & churned out as a quick money maker.
If you want information straight from the Birdkeepers mouth, post your questions here.

Paul. :D

Hello John

A very warm welcome to you although I am sure you realise it is a small but VERY friendly site.

Paul knows loads about foreign finches and Chris is a wealth of knowledge on Canaries.

I have just managed to secure myself a copy of 'Stroud's Digest on the Diseases of Birds', which is apparently THE book on bird ailmments...so if you have any questions just ask.

Laura
