hello all
got back a couple of hours ago after going to a fews dealers down south, what i can tell is how few finches and waxbills there are (apart from aussies and bengies)
we went the elmstead pets, (crap) woodlea birds (very few waxbills and finches, a few weavers) heathrow birds (few waxbills and finches, a few weavers) paradise pets, just a few of the 2 commonest species of waxbills, hundreds of weaver, many of which in full colour, mainly bishops of different types.)
the best place was Dorset birds, Alan still has quite a few different waxbills and finches, as well has a few very nice species of weaver. they are very friendly as well.
we have met my good friend Paul, though at that time in the morning (around 11) he was bearly able to speak or stand straight.
we managed to pick quite a few birds up from Alan for various people, between us we spent around £300, so that must have made him happy. he had some belting Pekin robins, just as good as my pair.
i hope to take the journey again, as i am a nutter. though by the summer comes the choice of birds will have definately dwindled.
