Hi all,

i'm curious to know what british softbill would be good for beginners?

i quite like blackbirds, wagtails, long tailed tits, and although it is very doubtfull i will house these birds in the near future i do plan to give them ago at some point. any advice/ideas on mixability with other bird species, general housing, feeding etc etc

cheers, Chris;-)

Hello Chris,

Although I have had limited experience with Long Tailed Tits I failed to breed from my pair, Blackbirds and Wagtails to the best of my knowledge do need seperate sex housing over the Winter Months.
I have been advised that Dunnocks, although again the sexes should be housed seperately over the Winter Months are the best begginer Species of British Softbills.

If my advice is incorrect please visit the BBIA Forum.
