Hi one and all
During my travells I have met a lot of new friends a lot with birds. One I met today has a company Palmpets in Darwin selling all pet and breeding supplys for all pets but the bird side is big. Bird are kept in 10 out door metal avairys with different quail running around some of them. The prices were very cheap I mean cheap to what we are use to, the prices I will give you are in Aus. dollars there would be about 2 to the pound. A lot of lovebirds in different variety's were $40 each and plum ring necks were $100 to $150 pair different colors. A sulphur crested cockatoo was only $300 hand raised and soft. Zeb's were $20 pair and Goldians were $110 pair Sun condors pair were $1000 and the condition of the birds were great and tame. And the treat of all were British birds localy breed well in Australia anyway but the Greenfinch and Goldfinch were only $12.50 each. Yes thats right less than 6 pounds each and lots of good quality birds as well .There were also a great selection of canary /budgies and all different Parrots and all so calm even with a people around. I am trying to get him as a member and also for him to give out our e mail to his customers only time will tell NEW MEMBERS .8)

Hi one and all.

A great place to be, but took us working 2years 2 jobs to beable to afford it, but well worth it. Went out today to see more birds and black cockatoo was 3000 dollars hand raised and sulpher crested were only 200 dollars hand raised, asked about not hand raised but tame they were 80 dollars. Going to a exibition tomorrow have been told of one of the lads has charcoal zerbs and coloured long tailed finches will hope he will let me take some pics.

Hi Chris

Why Australia why not Canada??

Depends on what you are trained for as the cost of living is cheaper in Canada and the wages are high but the weather is not as good as Australia.

Hi Matthew

I will try and get some prices for you but as most countries you are not allowed to keep the same breeds that usually are wild birds unless you have a special permit.

cheers Allan,

i am thinking more on the lines on what Asian/african finches/waxbills are available in ozz, i have heard of one or 2 species been at prices that exceed the cocst of parrot.

Hi Matthew
The price of birds out here seem to have a not a great deal to do about anything, From shop to shop or breeder it will be from normal Zebras from $2 to $5 each and Goldians from $100 to $200 a pair and thats the standard red or black headed ones.
I have not forgotten the pics just trying to fit it all in between the eating and the sun and must not forget the beach.....
No snow yet although lots of rain.
