Well thanks to Channel Five, we now know All We Need To Know About Bird Flu, we are all proper f*****!!!
Remember the film Zulu, "Your all going to die":o

64 Humans in Asia have died due to this Virus over a period of three years!!
I reckon a larger number of Asian people could have died as a result of Chopstick accidents over the same period? Just as Wang Chun attempted to eat his Egg Fu Not So Young, he sneezed, which resulted in impaling his Brain via his nostrils with a pair of Chopsicks.

64 Humans from one Continent die as a result of a Bird related Virus, is it any surprise when these people share the same house as their Chickens, Pigs, Cats, Dogs etc, they have the most densely populated area in the World and their hygiene levels are a complete joke compared to the rest of the World.
Their Street Markets are not regulated regarding hygiene either, there on sale are live Poultry for Human consumptiom with no regulations in place, and we have a Government that see's fit to buy from these Countries despite the previous points I have made.

But as far as Channel Five are concerned, the main risk of the Bird Flu Pandemic is due to the importation of Birds by people such as Pegasus Birds.
Despite the fact that the Virus was detected and stopped from spreading while these infected Birds were under quarantine, the Media see fit to attack quarantine procedures.

Why??:???: It is very clear that the quarantine measures have prevented this Virus from entering the UK unchecked!!

Again I will make it clear that Brett Hammond of Pegasus Birds acted within the law in mixing two shipments of imported Birds from two different Countries, even Continents!!
The fault for this mistake lies with DEFRA who are responsible for preventing cases such as this one.

Non infected Birds have been needlesly destroyed due to this almighty cock up, the risk of cross contamination could have been avoided if the Government had placed restrictions regarding this subject many years ago.

ah damn,

so that new super chopstick virus is spreading then:-o

it's getting to the pooint now where i don't believe a thing the media say, if they can spread such rubbish and down right lies about us, how do we know they aren't doing it with everything else they report. there's 2 sides to every story, yet time and time again we only ever see one

hi laura i will apologies now for the language paul/chris they are all a bunch of tossers all they want is somebody else to blame and they get excited if something happens like that so they can point the finger at someone else they get off on a tiny smidgen of news so they can say they were right all a long, the i told you so brigade love it when they are right they even if it is just one person they can justify spending millions on stockpiling serum,i think secretly they hope that they get a pandemic so they can use it to win votes for their next election they will not care if people even die .it will again justify them getting the flu drug.then when they finally here about a case of bird flu they totally balls that up as well.dont they realise that if they manage through the constant nagging from the a.r.a. to get rid of all us birdkeepers whats going to happen to the magazines, the seed merchants and all the other bird related people sheds, aviaries, heaters ,lighting, and bird forums the amount of revenue they create will leave a masive hole in their economic budget.WORDS FAIL ME !

Hi Kenny,

my advice would be to not register your details. It's not compulsory and we on here can give all the upto date details on bird flu to each other faster than the council can.

they haven't asked for owners of other types of birds such as raptors, finches, parrots, softbills etc. we do not need to register as one we haven't been asked to and 2) it's not the law.

frankly i wouldn't register my birds anyway, we all know the anti's are everywhere, all they need is a list of addresses and they can go on a 'liberating' spree. it only takes one anti councillor to steal the data on birdkeepers and post it on an internet site and then the real fun will start. not only antis but brainwashed ordinary people who consider your birds a threat.

the day that happens is the day birdkeepers become public enemy no.1 and the day i get a gun

Hello all,

Kenny,

As Chris has already stated, this article is aimed towards keepers of Poultry, Pigeons and Waterfowl, so there is no need for you to register your Birds with the Council, or anyone else for that matter.

But if I were a keeper of the above I would be worried about the Big Brother threat in this possibly harmless request, again for the same reasons as Chris has mentioned, sure the Government are possibly thinking a register of these Birds would help in protecting the public if an Avian Flu outbreak was to occur in the UK.
But at the same time there is the threat of the wrong people getting their hands on this information, I have already heard of one case where someone returned home from work to find all of their Chickens had been shot, presumably by a neighbour fearing they may catch Avian Flu from them, due to the recent cases being blown out of proportion from the exaggerated words of the AR fed to the press?
A member of the FF3 Forum had a note through her letter box from a misinformed neighbour telling her to dispose of her Birds in order to protect the neighbours children from Avian Flu.
I have been told that a Dustman not far from where I live who found a black bin liner containing around a dozen Cockatiels with their necks rung, this case could be due to a Birdkeeper fearing the possibility of contracting Avian Flu from their own Birds, the Birds may have been killed by someone other than the owner, or because of another problem that is becoming extremely common, breeders simply cannot move Birds on due to the ban of Bird Sales, so they have no choice but to dispose of their own Birds in this way because there is simply no way of selling or giving away surplus Birds?:-(

As bad as these cases are, I doubt for a minute that the AR care at all that their actions are in fact resulting in the deaths of the Birds and other Animals that they claim to care about so much.

Matthew,

I had no idea there was a Dirty Harry amongst us on the Forum, but it does seem to me that we should set up a Feathered Friends Gun Club amongst the members here, yourself and Roger are already packing Guns, Chris and I are just wannabe Gun toters.

Hi Matthew and Kenny,

Matthew,

As pleased I am to hear you only have an Air Gun, it is very sad news that someone living near you has lost their life to such a weapon, please take a better aim next time mate:-(

Kenny,

Well said mate in such a subtle fashion, all joking aside I don't know how I would handle the situation if someone stole my Birds without me knowing at the time,:-( but I do know what would happen if I managed to catch them in the act.:x

Paul.

Hi Paul/fellow wannabe Gun toter:lol: ,

to be honest i'm dangerous enough without a gun, this is the person that can build a flamethrower from a waterpistol, a rocket launcher from a drainpipe, a grenade from a tennis ball, and a lovely explosive mix from a can and an iron nail that when lit will burn straight through a car bonnet, the engine, the axle and into the ground a good few inches:shock:

all this from GCSE and A-Level chemistry:shock:
