Nice one Kenny and Jimmy,

Unfortunately the Baya Weaver didn't receive the recognition it deserved when it was available in the UK, I fear this Weaver may be lost for a very long time.:-|

Paul.

Hi Chris,

I wish you luck mate, I haven't seen this Species for many years.

I embarrassed myself while asking the owner of a Bird I had judged, whether it was a Baya Weaver coming into, or going out of breeding plumage?
The owner then told me it was a Streaked Weaver in full breeding plumage.
OK so I got the Continent it came from right,:D but the Species was completely wrong.:|

What I'm saying is,that there are two very similar Weaver Species from Asia that could be easily confused, however I wish you luck in finding either of them.

Good luck mate, Paul.;)

thanks Paul,

a few years ago when i didn't know any better, i thought all weavers constructed huge nests like the social weavers, and the nest in kenny's photo above. This was the main reason i'm so into them, how many other birds build nests bigger than the tree it's in?

if i do ever find any of these weavers for sale i think i will feel another aviary extension or otherwise coming along

Chris:wink:
