hi laura

the only thing i got from it is if it hits us this winter which is what they are expecting then they have only enough stuff for selected personell nurses, doctors, and of course mps the way they look at it everyone else will have to wait unyil september 2006 for theirs as they have not made enough antidote for everyone but they admitted that a certain doctor oxford had advised them a year ago to make the stuff but they didnt take any notice.surprise surprise.there is a follow up next week where people can text and e-mail questions for a panel of experts to answer so get your thinking hats on you lot

Hi All,

it might be worth making a note of the second part to the program this sunday, as last thing i heard Chris Newman, Paul Fields and a pigeon keeper are all being interviewd for the program to show our side of things. what it turns out like will obviously all depend on the editing etc.

i know i'll be watching it:grin:

Chris:wink:

Hi Ken,

Thats me out mate because I don't have avakid e-mail address, I do have a valid e-mail address though.

Seriously though Ken, I have a very poor grasp of the English language when I become wound up by the Medias overly hyped b******* on this f****** subject, pardon me my Tourettes's kicked in for a moment.

My view at this stage is let the ignorant public believe what they want to believe to due to misinformation from the Media b*******, and the real Birdkeepers will carry on as usual.

The fact is Bird Flu has been around for a very long time, and will be for as long as Asian Countries (and perhaps other Countries) insist on practising poor hygiene levels regarding their Livestock husbandry.
My opinion is that as long as poor hygiene is practised in the Eastern World, the Western World will suffer from their contact with these Countries who pay no attention regarding clean living in poor areas.

Well said Paul, couldn't agree more.

Media hype, nothing more.

Although i thought Pannorama presented 2 very good programmes on the subject.

Hi Ken and Jimmy,

Kenny,

I've yet to see this programme (I've had it recorded) but when I post my comments after viewing the recorded programme I'm certain my Tourettes may break out again if I see something I disagree with.

Jimmy,

I went to this Lady's Wedding also, she turned out to be a good Girl too, despite her abundance of facial hair!!;-)

Paul

don't bother watching that programme it was kak! i have wasted around 60 minutes of my life.

load of rubbish it was. they seem to think we have already got the dame thing, and even if it kills 50,000 or even 750000 in the world, theres more than 6 billion people.

load of corny cheaply made rubbish, that was made in a typical yank way, - bloody over the top.

Hi Matthew,

I wont waste my time then, thanks for the warning.;-)

I was angry enough at the TV news report tonight, withn the reporters whinging because the public were misinformed over the facts of the Bird Flu case in quarantine in Essex, only to state that the Bird Flu was only found in a Mesia Finch and not a Parrot.

Where does a Mesia Finch come into it?? I know I'm being picky, but if a reporter can whinge because the public have been given the wrong information, what right do they have in getting their facts wrong?

They then showed a picture of a Rainbow Lorrikeet as the Parrot (Blue Headed Pionus) and a Grey Singing Finch as the Mesia Finch (Silver Eared Mesia),, if these idiots wish to add further hype to an old story I wish they would get their facts straight in the first place.

I urge all of you to visit the DEFRA Website to read the truth on what has been released by DEFRA regarding the Essex case today.

Paul.
