Hello all,

Tonight I have been informed that one Bird of my pair of Chestnut Capped Laughing Thrushes has died.

The pair of Birds were on a breeding loan with someone who could provide far better housing than I could myself, the pair were housed in a 40ft long planted aviary but showed very little interest in breeding this year.

I saw for myself how fit and healthy both of my Birds were on Saturday night, but today without warning one of the pair died.

I am absolutely gutted to lose this Bird, mainly because the remaining Bird will be feeling the loss far more than I am!

So I call upon anyone who has Birds of this Species to contact me very soon in order to pair this Bird up very soon.

Paul.

Thank you all for your replies, I'm hoping there is someone out there who already has some/one of these Birds who will be willing to buy the remaining Bird I have.

This pair of Birds have/had a very sentimental value to me because they were part of an excellent collection belonging my late friend Ray Brooker, which sadly is now broken up and scattered up all over the Country despite my attempts to prevent this happening.

I wanted so much to breed from them for many reasons.

1, They are one of the most gorgeous Species of Laughing Thrush I know of in many ways.
They are attractively coloured, they are one of the few Laughing Thrushes that mix well with smaller Birds due to their gentle nature and they are an absolute joy to watch with their often comical, confiding and inquisitive behaviour.

2, There may not be any more of this Species imported again for quite sometime, or maybe never again?

3, But most of all, I wanted to breed them for my mate Ray!!

Thanks Chris,

I will be very grateful if you could put me in touch with keepers of these Birds, cheers mate.

Laura,

Yes this loss has brought back a great deal regarding Ray in general, and I wish he was still here, Ray was one of Birdkeeping/breedings unsung greats!
Thank you very much for the chat tonight too, I needed you to kick me into touch, thanks mate you are a star.
