Hi All,
just found out it's going ahdead on Sunday the 5th March 2006:-)
now all i have to do is come up with a fool proof way of getting there and back, and buying birds possibly without my parents finding out just incase i need to. speaking of hiding things from the parents i've just smuggled 6 banana plants into my bedroom to overwinter i wonder how long before someone noitces:grin:

hello Chris
i will be going whether its my weekend at work or not, Spring stafford is when i but all my breeding gear.
i look forward to meeting you lot.
Chris it won't be long before your parents notice, is there no where else to over winter.
mine is doing well in the shed, i also have a greenhouse as well, but with bananas with them being such a tender structure when young they can easily damp off.

Were hoping to get to the spring one, booking days off well in advance, might have a table with a friend who produces cardboard finch nest boxes, then we would get to look round early,as it appears from this Stafford the Early Bird Definately gets the best pick;-)

Hi,
I'll try to get there if only to have a look around and meet you lot:-) , plus it will be a golden opportunity to get some greensingers for the project and i reckon i'll need to stock up on seed around then for the breeding season.
Matthew, i could possibly keep them in a heated propogator in the shed but i'll take my chances with the bedroom for now

Hi Alan and Chris,
Alan,
Great to hear from you mate, but shame on you, you may have eaten some of Chris's distant relatives, I hope you performed a ceremony and said a few words for the skins.
Chris,
I must say I'm surprised at how you have taken the news of the ghastly way in which these poor defenseless Bananas met their maker,:-? but then again if you hadn't ever met them, then I'm sure this must have softened the blow.
Anyway onto slightly less important matters, if as you say nearer the date you still need a way of getting to Stafford I will gladly help you out mate.

Hi Jimmy and Laura,
Of course you can join the STBF we would gladly welcome the Pear of you (talking of Pears, Chris Packam is one of our Celebrity members, who spoke at a Conference just recently:o), yes we are a very good Bunch indeed.
There are various Branches within the Federation and we hope to enjoy the Fruits of our labour very soon, we have taken a Leaf out of various other protection agencies to help us get to the Core of the problem in the hope of conserving Bananas for many years to come.
I just hope there are no sour Grapes from these other agencies when they Twig that we have stolen the ideas they have come up with by starting from the Roots in their work.
We strive to help out Bananas to escape the Appleing conditions they are forced to suffer, but our work is far from Peachy, sometimes we have to work out in the field in the hot sun which leaves us looking like Prunes, despite wearing Black-Berries on our heads.
The Federation has members from all over the world including one or two from Orange County, another member is a Kiwi, our Patron is the Sultana of Brunei, and another member we have is a Champion Canary breeder and exhibitor, he does very well with his Fyffes:o.
We have sponsorship from the Apple Computer Company, but our other sponsors, Fairy Liquid pulled out because they said they were Pipped off for not being informed on what their money was going towards, and they felt as if they were left standing around like Lemons.:|
Sorry I'm going to stop this now, this is getting way too silly even by my own standards.
Paul.

Hi all,
if any of you are lucky enough to have played the game 'Worms', when a big chunk of pottasium is added to water you get a similar effect to using a banana bomb:)
any more of this madness and i might go as Nutty as you lot

hello Chris
great idea, step 1 dig a large pond fill it with water.
step 2 invite all Ar's round for a protest
Step 3 drop several tonnes of potassium in the pond
Step 4, for good measure ensure the pond is situated next a petrol station
Step 5, stand well back and enjoy the fireworks!!

Hi Matthew,
if i were to opt for blowing a large crater in the center of Cradley Heath, while taking out a few AR's in the process i would make a few alterations:grin:
1) sod pottassium, frankium or Caesium is far more reactive and does way more damage weight for weight. infact i've seen a cube of this stuff blow apart a bowl of water, not that spectacular until you realise it's a 2 inche thick glass bowl, and probably only around 2-5g of caesium:shock:
2), why not mix some other fun chemicals in with the 'AR soup', i vote for a healthy mix of Cyanide, Arsnic (Sp?). magnesium, thermite, TNT, Concentrated Nitric Acid and gunpowder for a nice all round firework display of carnage and why not strap a few packs of C4 onto the amazingly life like AR Guy Fawkes in the centre of this firework display
Chris:twisted:

lol, now then Chris don't gives the spies on this site any ideas, though its a brilliant one, though surely Guy fawkes would be GG, though those grave robbers.

Hi Matthew,
there are far more good ideas in this twisted little mind of mine when it comes to making a good fireworks display:twisted: , sadly i have never had the chance to test out any of my ideas or indeed build and test a few devices as knowing my luck some idiot would call me a terrorist and i'd get locked up for a few years. still, maybe one day in a nice empty, open field.................

 Sorry people,
I've stressed myself out so much due to the checks, forms and requirements of the coming Spring Stafford Show, that yes Laura I have lost the plot:shock:, until tonight I had been dreading rather than looking forward to the Show.
But after speaking with a couple of people and clearing up my concerns I am now again looking forward to the Stafford Show.
I felt that I had taken on more than I could deal with regarding bringing Birds apart from my own, I will be bringing Birds to the Show from other breeders and dealers, the paperwork side of things did cause concern, but this has now been cleared up.

Hi Ken,
I know what you are saying is true, but I'm looking at the Spring Stafford Show as the last of it's kind, if I can help others in pairing up Birds then I will do my best to help in making this happen.
I have a list of Birds to take to the Show, and another to collect from the Show, I hope my efforts will go toward preventing the loss of certain Species from UK Aviculture.
The fact is that I hope I can contribute towards saving certain Birds from being lost to UK Aviculture, but if I fail at least I know I have tried.
Paul.
