Is there any sure way of sexing a lavender finch? I only have one.

the only sure way Laura is buy their call the cock and the hen's differ.
the hen's call is only a single note., the males sing often, and strongly, opposite the the females.
thats the most reliable way anyway.

there is said to be some slight differences but not really reliable and no help to you Laura having only one bird

you should stick with the one bird as they tend to pull all the feathers out of each other and they look raggy for the best part of a year

there are lovely birds, they are getting abit scarce now,
can be evil buggers though, i had the most perfect pair they were huge, but they dint last long as they started bullying my Black-crowns.
