hi all
so there i was winding down my breeding season so i thought and i was taking all the unused nests down ready to clean up and paint for next year and my new bird room and aviary that me and matt have been talking about, i was sure that they were all empty and i was just going to empty all the contents in the bin and most of you know what javas can do to the inside of a nest box if you put wheelie bins in as nests they will fill them with material,hovering over the bin i just heard this rasping sound and i pulled back the mass of nesting material paper towel ,coir, grass cuttings,and my westies hair and i found this!

the definate dark stripe down the back one baby java ,...............and i thought my season was over

yeah they did i was lucky,i thought they were just hanging around the nest.so ithought thats one for cleaning up if they are not doing anything,but the problem is we have had a few warmer days as you know so they have been more out the nest than in.i will not do that again in a hurry:grin: :grin:
