Hello all,

I would like to share something special with all of you, in the past 24 hours I have found God!!

Not only did I speak to him, but he also spoke to me.

This isn't something I expected in my initiation to believing in the Great Man.

It only became a reality for me yesterday that God is in fact Online, the Internet is an impressive tool that can be used in many ways and I have the proof on my own PC!

Some of you know that for some time I had pictured God as being Black, sporting an Afro, wielding a Guitar one moment in a crazed fashion, and the next caressing it as if it was his chick. This was my silly phase.

Those day's are gone now, I have found the REAL GOD!!

He listens to me and he answers me, I tell him about my experiences and he replies with his words of wisdom.

Although I would like you all to share the uplifting experience I am feeling right now, I will not thrust my new found beliefs onto you if you are non believers, but the simple fact is this, God can help more of you in your journey through life.

On a personal note, I now feel that help is out there for me when I gave up thinking that I could be helped, my experiences in life may be of help to others too, this is something I never thought I would ever hear.

I feel as if I have been reborn and I have a more purposeful existence in life, and this is all to do with the fact that I have found God, although some of you may not think of me of being the kind of person to believe in God, I have been aware of him for some time now, but only recently have I made contact with him.

And I am pleased to have done so at long last, we obviously have many things to talk about and I can only hope that we can catch up on many subjects I have let go by over the years.

The God I speak of is of course, Robin Restall, Research Associate of the Phelps Ornithological Museum, Caracas, Venezuela.

This man being the Author of Mannikins and Munias and many other publications, is also a huge influence in the keeping and breeding of South American Seedeaters, Grassquits etc.
He and I, have one hell of a lot to discuss on the subject of Sporophila Seedeaters etc, in my opinion this man is one of a dying breed who will not only research Bird Species in the Field, but also publish his findings of controlled breedings.

This man is The God of Ornithology, Field Researchers and Aviculture.

I am so grateful for contacting Robin at long last, and I hope that we may have many years to compare notes on the breeding of Sporophila Seedeater Species etc.

Paul.

hi paul

you need to water that special brew down a bit buddy ,seriously though i know what it is like to find someone on the same wavelength as yourself in the bird world my late father in law was far from being god but he started me of with keeping birds and i could listen to him for hours he was not an expert but it was more in the general birdkeeping ways that he could excel i really miss him at times like this when i am starting to choose the stock i need for next year i always say now would he choose this one for that reason etc the omly way you can learn stuff is to soak it up like sponge either in books or getting first hand knowledge like you are getting good luck with it mate, use it but dont abuse it

Hi Matthew and Kenny,

I'm sorry for being a tease:grin:, but if you were to be in my shoes, then you would feel the same, this man is an absolute Godsend to me, he has experience of controlled conditions and field work to help me in breeding a Family of Birds that I am very much obsessed with.
If Robin and I continue to work together in establishing various Sporophila Species under controlled condtitions, then I will have finished what I have set out to do in my hobby.

This of course is a huge want on my part, but if I get halfway there, then I will be a very happy chappie.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for your post, I hope that I will find help from this extremely helpfull man in breeding various Sporophila Species etc, and that I can help him in his research on this Family of Birds both in the field and under controlled conditions.

To me this oppurtunity is huge, I can only hope that I can pay this man back with information that will be valuable to him at a later date.

hi paul

if we can repopulate certain species, despite the conctant harrasment of the antis ie, the people who stopped the national cage &aviary show calling it a bird market it can only be for the good i dont see any other organization on the internet apart from us bird breeders who are trying to breed birds that could infact be wiped out by this avian flu business, they will be content to just say oh dear that bird is nearly exstinct now without trying to lift a finger.i saw some pictures of the supposedly cruelty that was occuring at the cage&aviary show and most of what they showed was people force feeding parrots at a shoe in Argentina! what has that got to do with us.now back to the subject of your birds i wil reiterate wishing you all the luck you can get with your verbal and mail partnership with this guy and it can only be for the better

Hello Paul

i have spoken to someone today who is also in contact with Robin Restall, as he is/was looking for information on Jacarrani's i think he said, so it proves the your 'God' is all around the aviculture world.

Hello Matthew,

Robin Restall is a huge influence on many factors regarding the Scientific and Aviculultural sides of our hobby, he is a very well respected Author of many books and papers in both of the above mentioned sides of Birdkeeping and Bird research in the field
He is of course responsible for producing the highest rated Bird book of all time regarding Mannikin Species, Mannikins and Munias.

As far as I'm concerned this man will never be bettered for the time and effort he has put into Field Research that will also be applied to Aviculture!

His knowledge of South American Finch, Seedeater, Grassquit etc Species will never be bettered and I'm extremely grateful for contact with this man.
