I have hung a large bunch of grapes in the aviary this afternoon.....my Zosterops are having great fun!

They stick their beak into a grape and appear to just suck the insides out :) I thought I would make them work for their food for a change as they are used to me chopping it up for them.

I wouldn't normally do this but ASDA were selling grapes for 30p a kilo!

hi laura

its great that your zoterops are eating fruit raw as most of them do,but i have heard of quite a few people doing this and feeding them solely on fruit and forgeting the nectar as they think it is to messy and then they wonder why their delicate birds snuff it:grin:

Hi Laura,

I offer Grapes to my Birds whole also, although the nutritional value is very low, the Birds enjoy them a great deal.

Hi Laura,

Honey water is fine for Zosterops:wink:, a Nectar Mix I have used in the past was Brown and White Sugar, Honey and Glucose Powder, but I'm sorry I don't remember the measurements of the ingredients:roll:.

Hi Ken,

Have you tried this mix with your Birds and did it seem to do the trick?
