hi,

i'd probably go mad at the person responsible for them, and tell them that if they didn't improve the conditions i would contact the RSPCA who would most likely take the birds off them (and probably put them down:-x ), however after informing this person of exactly what the RSPCA would do to there beloved birds and to the reputation of birdkeepers as a whole....... this should scare them into improving the conditions. if no improvements were made i would ask to take the birds off there hands before the RSPCA do.

finally i would contact the police as a last resort... i would NEVER actually contact the RSPCA as we all know who they really are (AA)

hi axelrod

matt already knows my opinion on this as i had the pleasure of seeing someones collection,he was supposed to be showing me his newly born canary chicks but when i went in his birdroom it was filthy all the drinkers were clogged with green his seed pots were nearly all empty but the chicks i was supposed to see were dead! they had all the blood sucked out of them by mites (its making me itch talking about it ) all 4 were pale and covered in the things to say i was dissapointed in him is an understatement and as i told matt he said he was only breeding them for a bit of extra money i coudnt wait to get home and get some clean clothes on and a shower he was a freind of mine who i hadnt seen for ages but i gave him both barrels regardless, surprisingly enough he was annoyed at me for telling him off ,what else could i do as chris says its pointless calling the rspca

hi again axelrod,

is it a private breeder or is it a pet shop or something as you are better reporting them to your local authority if it is a shop or anything of that nature

hello axelrod,

i would definately give them a telling off, and say i'll come back tomorrow to make sure everything has been monitored if not then yes, i would probabily go to the authorities., i read Ken's story of that man on c n a info site, and it sounded disgusting to me though though of poor little chicks being over run with mites, shocking.

hi axelrod

cage and aviary should be held responsible if they put the add in it does not give them a very good name does it

Hi Kenny,

I'm sorry for my late reply on this subject, but I disagree that C&A should be held responsible for a dodgy advert, the same could happen on any Forum, including this one!

I for one would never hold a Bird publication or Forum responsible for an advert put forward by a reader or member, the buck stops with the person placing the advert.

hi paul

i suppose you are right there it was a bit rash of me but mucky birds and mucky birdrooms and mucky feeding stuff really annoys me there is no excuse why keep the things in the first place if you are not going to look after them its beyond me
