Bearing in mind that my Starlings still have bald patches, will it be ok to move them to an outdoor flight now? and if so, would they be ok in my Waxbill flight?
I thought that if they were able to fly about more freely it would help to build up their stregnth and improve their plumage.
I have been advised that the Amethysts are one of the quieter species of starlings.

Hi Laura,
Regarding the missing feathers I don't think the Birds will suffer if moved outside, but Amethyst's are known to take a very long time to moult even when given the best conditions possible, so please be prepared for a long wait for these Birds to gain perfect feather condition.
I think your Waxbill aviary will be too small for a Starling Species as flighty as the Amethyst's, they will scare the life out of your Birds in this aviary despite the fact they are not an agressive Species.
I think your best bet would be to put them in your main aviary providing there aren't any Birds nesting at the moment that are prone to desert their eggs/chicks due to the flighty behaviour of the Starlings.
If I were you I would put the Starlings in a large all wire cage in your main aviary for one day, then release them the next day, I have an all wire indoor mini aviary I could lend you tomorrow afternoon, leave the Birds in this until mid-day Sunday/Monday and then release them into the aviary.
