Hey guys thanksm for the welcome. i am happy to be on board and i am looking forward to offer my opinion to a few problems with aviculture just to certify i am in my last year as an avian vet at middlesex university this time so if there are ay problems on the health front please dont hesitate to contact me.
I am a keen breeder of waxbills and the arrer species of finches. unfortunately i have had an early retirement from aviculture but i still have all the knowledge.:)
as chris and matt already know i have alot to offer but as i was only young the other website hasnt given me a chance.
i will be posting a waxbill paper soon ( working on it now) includes helpfull hints and discoveries over the last 12 years of breeding.
All the Best Ash

Hi ash,
now there's a coincidence, i'm planning on going to uni to study veterinary aslo provided my A-level grades are good enough. if not i'll be taking zoology and spcialising in either birds, fish or amphibians toward the end of the course (same case with the vet course also). i probably won't be around much longer after that as i plan to emmigrate, but i will definately stay in touch on the forums
good luck mate!

all i can say is i dont blame you for wanting to move away from england. i think once i have finished i am moving away with rachel back home to america. it would be a lot better to set up waxbill breeding over there.plus i could use more of the tactics that need sunshine lol. instead of rain. The veterinarian course i took i decided on birds when i started. my professor is a vry experienced guy with lots of species and i have learnt a lot. i would reccomend giving it a good go. by the way before you can get onto the course you have to do at least a years experience in a zoo or vet surgery. and you wont get paid either. it was hard times where the bird trade showed it can be lived on.
hope this helps and very good luck to you matey. what did you take as your a levels???
regards Ash

Hi ash,
for my A-levels i have taken Biology, Chemisty and Maths. by the AS results i've just got back i'm goin to be doing a few re-sits to up my grades to more As. my chemisty is messed up as one of the teachers i had was an idiot who literally taught us bull:shock: , not our whole class is in a real predicament as both our chemistry teacher have left!!!
about the works experience at a vets or zoo, i've heard that this is no longer compulsory from several universities. i'll still be doing it anyway, probably this time next year when i take a year out:grin: .
i'm planning on moving to either Australia or Zew zealand where i already have family. i don't know about america as an option for me, the tornadoes would be great! but thanks to the media my general immpression isn't that good (no offence or anything mate, my general opinion of england is worse lol)
my girlfriend has suggested canada.... too cold!

so sorry to hear about the a level results, i hope you do well next time. teachers are idiots. they dont wanna teach you anything. lazy peeps. lol
as for the experience in a zoo or vets, i suggested it as an option because there are 5000 people who apply for veterinary schoolbut only 500 get in if even that. the more experience and dedication you show to them in your interview the better. i did a long time in a vets and it was amazingly funny.i taught the vet a few things about bird behaviour anyways. he wasnt too good on birds. lol
i hope you make it down the long and winding road mate. sorry about the pun lol.
new zealand is brilliant for breeding i have heard some of the results over there are amazing. they build flights round plants and trees, some beautiful ones.
the missus has suggested canada too. dont know what it is. but i can always travel up to there if i am in the states. wont take long to go snow boarding. lol America doesnt come across well because of bad public matters but there are different places away from it all like california were i was born. its amazing and if i can get started up i will breed again over there.
Regards Ash
p.s. nice to meet you kenny

Hi ash,
carefull, you might temp me to join you over in america! the only problem i have with zew zealand and australia is that i will have to leave all my birds behind. as far as i'm aware that isn't necessarily the case with america
the sooner i get out of this country tho the better! there are some very nice people, but there are way too many theifs, do-gooders, animal rights scum etc etc. at least in america i can shoot the scum that dare to "liberate" my birds:twisted:

well i have thought about leaving this country but i'm a very stubborn bugger, i couldn't do it, i hate so much about how this country is, going, with the influx of people from other places, we're not allowed to say owt about them, but they are about us.
we live in a time where gypo's have set up home on our land, and we can do very little about it.
a time when farmers are treated un-fairly, and given rubbish money for their produce.
a time when we are under siege by animal activists depsite doin nowt wrong.
a time where burgalers can sue, for people injuring them on our own property.
a time when we get ripped off with fuel costs and crazy taxes
a time when the nanny state, follows our everymove
a time when people from countries i no not the names of, knows every little details about our lives over the phone (call centres)
a time when many youth's have no interest in life apart from getting ****** and then ******
its enough to cause any decent human being to flee Britain,
but by God i will stay until the last ounce of strength has left my body in the Country that was once loved,
i Am British and always will be.
(lol, thanks for that Ash and Chris you've got me started again now:lol: )

I don't know what has gone on elsewhere and I'm not sure that I want to.
If anyone steps over the line on here he/she will be told in a reasonable manner by PM. I will not tolerate the type of behaviour that you would expect to encounter in a school playground on this site.
