Well done Laura,

At this rate you wont just be writing articles on Weavers, you should be writing books on them next. :D

Will we be reading a second article to follow up your continued success this year with the Weavers?

Perhaps you could write an article for the F.B.A. magazine, as soon as the Birds stop breeding so giving the entire seasons breeding in a new article, also it will be worth filling in the F.B.A. breeding report with your success with the Weavers.

What do you recon? Paul.

Hi Paul,

What a good idea. As you know I am not been very good at recording dates, should I still fill out the breeding report for the F.B.A.?

You seem to be having a fantastic year with your birds Laura. I am sure as Paul says the FBA membership would be fascinated by your story.

I certainly have been, well done.

Greg

G'day Laura,

Fill that form out mate!

Apart from that I'm sure the FBA will be very interested in your completed article on your breeding season of Red Bishops, that is if they ever stop in time for you to write anything!

By the way as well as the first cock Bishop you bred, that I now have with the two hens I bought at Stafford, I have just bought another pair of Red Bishops!
All systems go with Weaver breeding next year!

Paul.

Paul, I would like to wish you all the best for next season.

Mine is still ongoing, last night I felt a tiny baby in the weavers nest and this morning I think the other egg has also hatched, what a Merry Christmas this is turning out to be!

Hi Laura,

Do you have any further update on the Weaver chicks?

Paul.

Bad news  I found a dead weaver chick. It either fell out of it's nest or was accidently dragged out by it's mum. Unfortunately it fell in to the bamboo and got it's neck lodged between 2 stems, it also had a broken leg. I don't think the leg would have broken in the fall but maybe the mum was trying to resue the little one, and broke the leg in the process.

Now there is no longer any sign of babes or eggs I have now stopped feeding live food in the hope the male will come out of breeding mode.

My females could do with the rest.

Hi Laura,

Sorry to hear of your loss, but good luck for later in the season.

Hi All

My male Weaver is finally going into his eclipse plumage. He wore his bright colours for approximately 10 months!

Hello Laura,

First of all I'm glad your cock Weaver has decided to moult at last  , but it might be an idea to write to Cage & Aviary, & also post the same question on the other Bird related Forums asking if your cock Weaver has created a record time for being in breeding colour.

I nearly forgot to say that I've bought another hen for your Junior to breed with this year (to everyone else Junior is the first Weaver Laura bred :D ), so he now has three hens to make second generation babies with!

Paul. :D
