hi all
i dont know if anyone else has this plant in their aviary, but i put this in mine a couple of years ago and it is great it grows like stink and it has hanging type branches so that weavers could build a nice nest from the hanging down bits and it twists like honeysuckle and even has flowers on that are not poisonous(solanum crispum)or chilean potato vine mine is well past 6 foot now and makes a great windbreak and you can chop it right back and it comes back thicker.mine is a strain called "glasnevin"

Nice one Ken,

More info -

The Chilean potato vine is just the thing to give a sunny wall an exotic look. It has wiry stems, which need tying up to wires or trellis for support, clad in small semi-evergreen leaves which remain on the plant in all but bad winters. The potato-like flowers, each with lilac petals around a pointed yellow centre, appear continuously from mid-summer to mid-autumn. The variety 'Glasnevin' is the one to choose, as it flowers more prolifically and is also slightly hardier than plain Solanum crispum. This is trouble-free once established.

Plants enjoy moist but well-drained soil that is neutral to slightly alakaline in pH. To propagate, take cuttings from summer to early autumn.

The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

Two older ladies were sitting on a park bench outside the local town hall where a flower show was in progress.

One leaned over and said, "Life is so boring. We never have any fun anymore. For £5.00 I'd take my clothes off right now and streak through that stupid flower show!"
"You're on!" said the other old lady, holding up a £5.00 note.

As fast as she could, the first little old lady fumbled her way out of her clothes and, completely naked, streaked through the front door of the flower show.

Waiting outside, her friend soon heard a huge commotion inside the hall, followed by loud applause. The naked lady burst out through the door surrounded by a cheering crowd.

"What happened?" asked her waiting friend.
" I won first prize for Best Dried Arrangement."

Hi people,

Karl Duckworths Birds Buddy (now CNAI) was my introduction to Bird Websites and Forums, Karl D was kind enough to introduce me to Feathered Flyer, at present I have less time than I need to visit and support CNAI, BBIA and FF3, but I respect and love these Bird Forums a great deal!!

I hope that at least some members here have the time to support Karl on CNAI, BBIA and Laus on FF3.

Later Paul.

Laus's site has more members than we have post's, so it doesn't need help now.

i certainly will be concentrating on Laura's and Karl's sites, though i confess to be as much use as a chocolate fire guard covered in petrol of late!! i have been busy, and only have to time to send quick reply's.
though i will be back..

anyway, i don't dare talk about other sites for too long otherwise Laura will send her flock of captive bred weaver's to poke my eye's out!

Both CNAI & BBIA are new style forums to what they used to be and i think Karl is just getting peoples opinions of what they think.

Nothing more than that.

Jimmy :)

Hi Matthew,

Some of us feel as though we aren't contributing to various Forums at times, well I know I do but then I have joined at least ten Forums:shock:.
I realise that all Forums differ a great deal, here on Feathered Friends I think we have a great balance of relevant Bird information, other Animal and various Hobby interests and sick twisted humour:lol:.

I admit the majority of my time is spent here and I wish I had more time to devote to FF3, CNAI, BBIA and FIGHT BACK, but this isn't possible at the moment.

I just hope Karl never actually throws in the towel for good, that would be a huge shame!

Paul.
