hey all,

This is mainly for chris but others maybe interested!

I was just looking at eggs on ebay and came across this -

Melanotaenia Trifaciata (banded rainbow fish ) - someone is selling 25 fertile eggs from this species?

Wondered if thats any good for anyone?

Hi dave,


killifish are one of the few species of fish eggs you can buy, this is because they live in temporary pools which dry up every year. before this happens they lay eggs in the soil which survive untill the next rainy season and hatch out.

as a rule, killifish generally like soft acidic water around pH 6-6.5, and need a peat substrate to breed in. i would be interested in the fish but my tank setup wouldn't be sutiable for such a beautiful species.

you don't see many killifish for sale at aquarium shops so if your interested in tryin them this is probably a goos source of them

Dear guys and gals,


Apart from birds i breed alot of wild bettas and also HM betta which are very popular now. Most oft he wild betta are i=on the crictical list

Hi yogi,

nice to hear someone's breeding the wild type bettas, i would do the same myself but i've never seen any for sale around here
