Hi,
Please can someone help... I have two finches and I am 100% sure they are both male, They seem to be mating is this normal?

What sort of finches?Maybe if they are both male then they are just full of the joys of spring and overflowing with hormones.

Hi, two zebra finches.. they have all the markings of males with the black line on the belly and orange cheeks and red beaks...

its not exactly normal, but certainly not unheard of
do they have hens?
are they young birds
or could one be asscertain authority,

Hi, Thanks for your reply... They are young we only got them 3 weeks ago.. Theres no hens in with them just two males that's all the pet shop had was a cage full of males... My Partner does seem to think that one is more assertive but to be honest I think they are both as bad as each other.
What would you advise do you think?

its not unheard of, i wouldn't worry about it, just get them hens as soon as possible
what size enclosure are they in?

They are in a normal sized indoor cage which would hold 2 budgies. (although my two budgies have a cage each twice the size) Is it advised that all finches have hens? 8)

i that case i would remove one cock zebras when you obtain hens, that should prevent squabbling further down the line
