Feeding Canary Chicks

Hi All

I have two pairs due to hatch out next weekend and was wondering what you feed canary chicks with.

At the moment I am feeding the parents with normal canary mix dry seed and everyday am mixing up dry egg food (50/50 Sluis and EMP) and then mixing this with germiniated seed (white millet) and adding either cress grated brocoli or carrots. I am also supplying water with avigold vitamin suppliment in it also crushed egg shells and oyster shells.

Is the eggfood mix ok for the chicks or should I be adding something else.

if the parents are eating the soft food then it will be ok to feed to the youngsters i just feed mine eggfood and soaked seed mixed and they do ok on it...i sometimes give the adults a bit of cress but thats optional!

Thanks for the reply the parents are eating the softfood it the moment. Its my first time trying to breed and getting this far so hopefully in another 4 or 5 days they may hatch.
