Hello

With the on set of summer I have been spending a lot of my spare time on my local nature reserve (just a few minutes walk away). In doing so I have discovered a whole new world and I am now hooked on Entimology!

Basically, I love bugs!

I have taken a lot of photo's for the reserves web site, and today I was asked to become a full member of the group that helps manage the site and also been invited to sit on the Committee.

thats excellent news indeed Laura

insects and other invertebrae are indeed fascinating, we so often over look them, even in our gardens, there whole echo systems on just individual plants species

for instance we have a hawthorn hedge and here i frequenty see the hawthorn shield bug

i have a patch of teasals growing and on there i often see Rhyssa persuasria -has no common name, its in the gall wasp and allies family

amazing stuff

nice one laura we all like to do our bit for the environment and the countryside in general...people so often forget about all the bugs and insects and just regard most of them as pests
