Hi all

I have just been informed that my quail eggs have hatched. Roger has seen 8 or 9 babies trailing around after their mum and dad; I can't wait to go home to see them!

at a guess i reckon you've got one normal, and 3 pearl out of those 4 chicks. the normal i'm certain of but i'm unsure about the pearls. good luck with them, i hope to be seeing more pics of parent reared CPQ soon:grin:

Hi Laura and Chris,

Laura, Lovely shot of the proud Dad and some of his chicks.

Chris, now you have guessed the Mutations starting from what appears to be a Normal and going around clockwise, could you please tell us the sexes of each of the youngsters in the photo?

Paul.

Hello again Chris,

It's been quite a while now since I have bred the various CPQ Mutations, but I'm going to hazzard a guess that the chicks in the photo are one Pearl and three Blue or Blue Pearls?

If when the chicks gain their feathers I'm proven wrong I will post that Chris Dunn is the CPQ God!!

Paul.:-)

i didn't think you could tell apart the sexes untill they mature:? although i have noticed white masks on a few of my chicks in the past.

Hi all

I think my CPQ chicks are about 18 days old now and I have counted at least four that are showing the bib markings of a male

I hope there are some hens Paul :-?

Hi Laura,

I'm sure there will be a few hens from the chicks you have, I do say that with my fingers crossed though.

I will pop over after work tomorrow to check out the youngsters.

Paul.:)
