Hi Everyone

I have one Orange and one Yellow bishops (both male)
They are in lovely condition and will soon start displaying
their lovely summer colours ... my problem is...
I started out with what was supposed to be a pair but one was just young
or late getting his summer colours, I went to several local shops and eventually
found a shop who could source me 2 females. One died a few days after taking
delivery of her and the other soon moulted and also became a man!!
so I was left with three men, they fought really badly and I was desperately trying
to find females but with no luck and eventually one of my males died (I think it was
probably due to the stress of the other two males)

I really want to avoid having similar problems this year but just cannot find anyone willing to let me buy females. Is there anyone out there who can help either with suggestions or with females ?

Many thanks
Di xx

Hi Di,

i'd buy a 'pair' but get a guarantee from the shop that if the hen moults into a cock you can take it back first. provided you do have a hen then you could either sell on the cock bird, keep it separate so that when you breed from them you'll have unrelated birds to pair to, or if your sneaky say that it's the hen and it's moulted into a cock.... (if anyone asks... that didn't come from me   )
