Christmas Trees

Hi, All,is it OK to put Christmas trees into your aviary as i need to replace an old branch.i was hoping to get one that someone was recycling after Xmas are they all save to use.as i have still got birds that won't go in to their shelter.

but make sure its not been sprayed with owt, sometimes they do

Hi Trudy,

I would like to expand upon Tom's comment of yes this will be okay, and Matthews better reply considering the tree is safe if it hasn't been sprayed with anything.

The fact is that used Christmas Trees are a great support for many bird species building their own nests, but used Christmas Trees are far safer if they have lost all of their needles and have been washed of chemicals used over the festive season.
