Hi All,

had some trouble up until now with regards to playing my guitar down here. firstly we were told that amplifiers are not allowed.. (like that stoped me!!) however we since found out amplifiers can be kept in your roms provided they are not used. then the search for a practice room began, the recording studio isn't interested and wont let us use the premises unless we want to record (crap as the recording studios down home don't care either way!), we were pointed toward the music rooms on another site all the way down into town. when we get there to find that the office is only open between 10am and 1pm!!! so that got us no where as no one was ever around when we were

finally a few weeks ago someone just happened to mention there is a music room in our own building!!! funny how they only send you to places you have to pay to get in:evil:

anyway, now the practice problem is sorted, the big amplifier is now in my room rightfully where it belongs next to the guitar and effects pedal, i just have to lug it all over to the practice room whenever the other chap (who pays bass guitar) wants to jam. the good thing is though i now get to turn the volume up a touch... it's gone from level one to level 3:lol: i'm suprised no one said anything last night about it, might try level 4 next time:lol:

Hi Chris, what do you think of B C Rich guitars the Warlock Afterburner as my son Ashley is having one for his Christmas present we have just ordered it. he has been learning for 14 months and is very good.

Hi Trudy,

BC Rich are very good, although it laregly depends upon what model and what series your after. the platinum series guitars are good all rounders, however they lack the tremlo arm (aka whammy bar) so can be restricting in what you play, the PLatinum Pro series has these built in, other than that they are virtually identical, and i don't think there is much of a price difference either.

the guitar i currently have is a BC Rich Virgin, platinum series. great guitar, the body is small and easy to handle the only catch is the lacking tremlo arm as that's currently holding me back a touch in terms of what songs i can play (or solos even).

the Warlock can be a slight pain as it has a pretty large body to it, nothing you can't get used to but the weird shape can be a bit odd at first.

www.gak.co.uk (http://www.gak.co.uk) is a good place to order your gear from and guitars, one of the cheapest i know, and last time i asked it was only £10 delievery for a guitar

Hi Trudy,

i dont know of an Afterburner Warlock, however could it be this one? : http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/options.php?id=12650

it's built a little different to the one i play so will probably have a different resonance and tone to it, still no tremlo arm though. if he keeps at it i'd like to bet in a few years time he'll want a new one with the trem, bit like i do now! although i'm thinking more along the lines of either having a custom made guitar, or building my own which would be interesting in itself

i'm not exactly in a band as such at the moment, however i have a few friends who i play with, 1 guitarist who can play faster than i do to an extent (can't bend to save his life though!) and a bassist. we don't know a drummer yet, we do know various singers... just a matter of time really. the only problem with the other guitarist is his amplifier is very old and not very powerful, as a result we're going to have difficulties as my amp and the bassists are large in comparison, so the other chap is going to need a new amp if he wants to be heard
