very well done Trudy i hope they go all the way.

the diets sounds ideal for them, you could also try offering fruit flies and their larvae as well as buffalo worm, but that diet seem pretty good to me

good luck and keep us posted

Hi Matthew, will do, do you think they would like ant eggs,as we were cleaning one of our glasshouses out and rolled the ground cover back an found hundreds of black ant eggs different sizes so are they OK

Hi Trudy,

no harm in trying, i have offered black ants and their eggs before now to my birds however they dn't touch the ants, red ants are something else though they go mad for them

Hi all, lost all the chicks they just did not feed them. not many visits to nest just playing around in the aviary as if nothing had happen:-( never mind thats what its all about when you keep birds. looking like they are building again

hello Trudy

its not exactly normal, but its certainly not un-heard of, its amazing how species do it now and again, for instance last year i have avadavats from the previous round help incubate and feed the next round!
