argue! and fight to the death! and place pettitions up, also look to see if we can find a loophole of our own in the law
i'm going to be writing a letter to cage and avairy birds to get our pettition noticed by more people, and may do the same with other magazines as it threatens all hobbies

Chris, you are such a breath of fresh air. YOU are what our hobby needs.
I have signed the petition and also emailed the link to Geoff Capes. I don't know him, he was the only celebrity bird keeper I could think of :!:
PLEASE don't tell me he is on the board of Anal Aid :?

it would appear that greg has found that very loophole we have been waiting for. charities cannot promote or take part in illegal activities at all, animal aid is a regitered charity... they suggested that i release my birds, and guess what! releasing foreign non native birds into the wild is illegal
i'm now off to write this up, along with the very e-mail anal aid sent suggesting this illegal activity, and am going to post it to the cage and avairy, bird keeper magazine, my local mp.. and anyone else i can think of

nothing ever came of the leters to cage and aviary, or my MP :x
let's see if this pettition gets us anywhere now, it's been up about 2 months and i don't recon i'm going to get any more names now so i recon it's about the right to time to send it to EFRA or DEFRA, or maybe the PM (if the anti's can try then so can i). anyone got any ideas of which department i should be sending the pettition to? been on both DEFRA and EFRA websites on the contacts and it seems a bit confusing...

You're not alone there Chris, I got no response from my MP at all!
If I were you I would send the petition to them all, hopefully at least one of them will take notice.
Happy New Year to you.

Hi Chris,
I agree with Laura, send your petition to both DEFRA & EFRA, theres no harm in them both having a copy, also how about sending it to Cage & Aviary Birds? They may or may not print it, but who knows? Tell them you are a friend of Laura Bryant, I'm sure they will print it then!!!
Paul.

i did send them a copy before when i wrote a letter to them about what that AA fool said via e-mail, they never printed it.. even tho they printed a letter of someone asking for a pettition!
i'll try again, maybe point out the online site so they can see how many names we have so far.
try them all ay, hmmmm

looks like we're getting some results now :D i've had a reply from DEFRA and they've said to print off the pettition and post it to ben bradshaw so i will do that, also C&A have mentioned our pettition! we've had 2 more names today added to the list so hopefully this will give us the boost we need.
i'll wait a bit longer before printing and posting the results as i'm hoping for a boost in names thanks to C&A... time will tell

Hi Chris,
I was very pleased to see your letter in C&A (I guess mentioning Laura's name helped after all huh? )!
I hope that with this wider coverage, your petition will gain a good many more signatures than it has already.
Please don't feel too disheartened if it doesn't receive a huge number, this may be due a lot of other people such as yourself, setting up their own petitions.
Well done though Chris, we all appreciatte the time & effort you have put into this!
On a different note, I have had some serious computer trouble & have lost all of the information sent to me by Chris Newman regarding FOCAS, & all of the information sent to me by various other people regarding information relating to the actions of the AR Movement.
So I will now have to ask them for all of the old & any new info they have on both subjects, with the hopes of making Animal keepers from all Hobbies aware of the intentions of FOCAS & the general public aware of the true actions & intentions of the AR Movement.
Paul.

what a blow mate :o hope you get everything back!
don't seem to be generating much interest in the pettition online, and have had 0 e-mails for print outs either. i'll print it off at the end of this week if nothing else happens.

Hi Chris,
Please hold out for a while longer, I have some more news from Chris Newman of FOCAS fame, I hope to make any more info public in two to three weeks time.
Paul.
