I have received this query, can anyone help? No photo unfortunately

I bought from an aviary a bird they said was a red factor canary. it wasn't and I knew it. I believe it's a European siskin.
she has reared 3 broods with a fife variegated male.
they make fantastic parents, and the babies are pretty.
she is robin sizes, buff beak, speckled breast, with red and orange on the breast, Back is dullish brown,
Any ideas. she's definitely a finch .

Hello Laura,

From the description given, I believe the hen in question is either a Red Hooded Siskin, or a Red Hooded Siskin Mule (eg Red Hooded Siskin x Canary).

If someone else could please post a link to a photo of the above mentioned bird/s, please do and hopefully this mystery could be solved?

Paul.;-)

hello Laura

i take it this was from Hippocroc? if so she emailed the photo to me, and though it wasn't very clear i suggested it was also a red hooded siskin cross, unfortunitly i did not save the email, but you can allus pm or email her and ask her to send it again
