Hello Smoggy and welcome

If the bird is singing whilst doing it's 'little dance' it is a cock bird ;-)

hi smoggy
welcome to the site, laura is correct that only the cocks do the little dance.but the hens dont do anything but lay eggs .there is no way to sex bengalese visually so you can only do what you are doing now.

Hi Smoggy,

I'm sorry to hear your collection of Bengalese Finches is proving to increase in the number of cock birds,:-( it may help if you can track down a breeder in your area who has sexed pairs for sale, but failing that buy as large a group of these birds as possible and then sell on the the cocks excess to your requirements.

All the best, Paul.
