Hi,
doves and pigeons can and will breed all year round, so the season or time of year should present a problem. i've give them a large 4 foot cage, or an aviary with a few canary nest pans dotted around. provide some coconut fibres for nesting material, and feed them on soaked seeds, eggfood, greens and oystershell grit to try and encourage breeding.
i'm sure one of the other members can give a fuller answer that i just have if you don;t midn waiting a few hours

Hi,
any commercial eggfood will do, orlux are my preffered choice if i buy, however i do also make my own and there is a topic on here somewhere with instructions on how to. i'll find that out and bring it to the top of the pile for you.
as for greens, spinach, dandelion, cabbage leaves, grated carrots, broccoli, chopped cucmber all will do. best to feed only 2/3 times a week as too much can cause lots of wet droppings

Hi 69Ladyetc,
Regarding breeding your Diamond Doves, caged or aviary housing should be enough to breed from these birds due to their free breeding nature.
I have bred Diamond Doves in Winter housing in cages by mistake in the past, which only reflects this species as a very free breeding species.
