i thought they was more than one, chick, but its hard to tell in that aviary with 9 adults and tall plants

well, i have just seen 3 or 4 chicks on the perch now, so i'm really happy about that.

Awesome!!!!

That's great. It is so exciting when chicks fledge, because unlike species that tolerate nest checks, etc., most waxbills do not...so you can only go by parent observation, chick noise, etc. to tell you somewhat of what's going on.

believe it or not Nikki, i broke the cardinal sin of nest inspecting, twice!!

i knew they built a nest in the box but i didn't know that there was young untill i stuck my fingers in and felt movement, luckily i got away with it.

thats really great news mate, and who was complianing a while back that you were having a bad breeding season i knew it would kick off for you mate if you were patient and the extra warm weather helps also..........really pleased for you mate!
