Hello all,

I need two or three pairs of pet shop type/non exhibition Bengalese Finches, preferably early 06 or late bred 05 non proven birds.
They are needed as possible fostering parents, I can collect from Dorset, Hampshire or Surrey.

Paul.

Thanks Laura,

I'll take a look at the weekend, out of interest do you know how much they charge?

Cheers, Paul.;-)

£4.95 each  You will have to have a good listen to pick out the cock bird as they don't know what they are doing there. They rely on the position of the eye in relation to the beak to tell if it a hen or a cock.

Hi Paul & Laura,

if you think that's bad you should try my area, £8 each!

hi chris
in a pet shop near me they are only charging £7 a pair but they have absolutely no idea which are the cocks or hens so you will have to stand in front of the cage for a couple of days

Hi Laura, Chris and Ken,

Laura,

Many thanks for the info mate, but I think I will give Fiveways as miss for now.

Chris,

£16 a pair for Bengalese sounds even more less appealing.:-x

Ken,

For £7 a pair I would be willing to buy half a dozen.;)

But I think I will be be better off in buying from a local breeder on this one, I would prefer to buy non proven birds for the purpose of fostering, in this particular case I'm thinking of foster parents for Scaly Crowned Weavers.

Hi Paul

I don't know how desperate you are for Bengalese but mine are breeding well at the moment. I have 3 chick out and more eggs waiting to hatch. :p

Hi Laura,

I'm sorry I haven't replied earlier mate, the fact is I do need some virgin 'Pet Shop' type Bengalese ASAP, but I would also be interested in buying any Bengalese you manage to breed this year with the idea of hopefully using them to foster Scaly Crowned Weavers next year?

Many thanks, Paul.

Hi Jamie,

I will be interested if the Bengalese you have aren't of exhibition quality, I'm looking for Pet Shop quality birds that hopefully will prove to be better foster parents to other species?

Hiya Paul
This year the Bengie's have really peed me off, lazy crap making machine's,a couple of year's ago i used Zeb's for fostering and they brought R/C Cordon's up,dunno if it was luck but i'm gonna try them again,at least they've got a bit of colour to them. The only downside is the monotanous sound, any way how you doing mate,Paul i also have some Bengie's you can have, two pair 05 bred and three young
