i keep a few loris and lorikeets and would like to hear from anyone who breeds or keeps them they are lovley birds i have goldies violet naped and forstens and a pet green naped called charlie :)

Hello Gill,

I hope that you eventually find contact with current breeders, but the best I can offer is that my Uncle bred the Goldies Lorikeet some years ago.
I would have thought that of all of the Lory and Lorikeet species that the Goldies would be amongst the species to be established in UK Aviculture.

If I hear of any current breeders of any of the species you have mentioned then I will certainly let you know.

my violet naped are on eggs now im very exicited as they are quite rare im keeping my fingers crossed they hatch thanks gill:razz:

no but hopefully next time loris usually go down again straight away ive got my fingers crossed my forstens look like they are going to go down aswell :)

I saw the Forstens Lorikeet and the Goldie Lorikeet.....what beautiful birds they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ive got some goldies some green naped and a black lori and at the end of the month im getting a pair of duyvenbodes and possibly a pair of yellow backed loris if i get the black lori sexed and it turns out to be a hen ive been offered a male i only know of 3 pairs in britan so i will be very happy . my celestials are on eggs and my kakarikis are 2 so im not doing to bad:-o

ive also got some bengalise finchs and some zebra finches pair of galahs pair of bronze wing pionus kakarikis cockatiels senegals all pairs pets are green naped lori blue crowned conure and a meyers 4 ducks 4 chickens and 2 cats so im quite busy looking after them all loris are lovely birds id recomend them to anyone gill

im trying to get two cock birds off a guy on ff3 someone gave us another hen we are hoping to get them fingers crossed
