hi,
as you may or may not know i've had canary chicks for the past 2 1/2 weeks now, they have feathered up fully and are quite active and really should be out of the nest by now :shock:
however, when i went to feed this afternoon i've found out exactly what they're playing at! not long after placing some fresh greens in the cage one of the chicks jumped out of the nest to the floor, then wondered around the cage floor and perches for a while (while the parents were eating), then no sooner had the cock canary gone to feed the other 3 chicks the 4th had jumped back onto the perch and back into the nest to be fed!
those birds have got it easy :lol: eat, sleep, eat, sleep :shock: :lol:
the hen is getting ready to nest again so if they are still playing their parents for fools by the end of the week, i'll take the nest out so they'll have to start feeding for themselves. then when they are weaned i'll see about placing a fresh canary pan in
