hi all,,just a quick question, i moved my birds(finches) to the bird room
a couple of weeks , all birds seem to be happy and healthy although today
i found both my cock and hen dead in their nest box,,, no signs of any
injury or anything,, both birds were healthy and flying about yesterday
so im not sure whats gone wrong..
any help or ideas appreciated.
thanks clint.

Hi Clint, sorry to hear your sad news, could the temperature have dropped too low?

Hello Clint,
One theory could be that the stress of moving the Birds could have been a factor in the loss of your Birds.
If I move Birds from cage to aviary & vise versa I put Pro-Biotics into their water for a couple of days as a minimum, because a change of habitat is always a stress on Birds even if the change is within a couple of feet.
Paul.

hi paul and laura.
thanks for the replys.
i just find it hard that these 2 birds have been in the bird room for 2 weeks
and feeding/drinking well and were in a very healthy condition.
i must admit that i used no pro-biotics after the move but ive lost no other birds.
these birds were fine in the outside flight for the last 4 months.
they were in a 36x 18 x18 breeder so they had plenty of room.
the only thing i can think of is night fright,, theres been no signs of rodents in the bird room.
maybe they could,nt adapt to life in the bird room?
many thanks clint
